Tension Pneumothorax Simulator for Needle Decompression Training

  • Realistic Chest Anatomy: The Tension Pneumothorax simulator accurately recreates the upper chest with clear anatomical landmarks, helping trainees understand proper positioning for needle decompression.
  • Correct Needle Placement Practice on NCD model: Trainees can feel the 2nd and 3rd intercostal spaces, the clavicle, ribs 1–3, and part of the sternum under a silicone layer. Supports realistic needle insertion in the 2nd or 3rd intercostal space along the midclavicular line, ensuring proper training technique.
  • Realistic Feedback & Repeated Use: Experience the lifelike “hiss” of escaping air upon successful needle insertion. This NCD simulator mimics the immediate pressure relief of a real-life tension pneumothorax. A self-sealing silicone skin to simulate the skin layer and a special air bag that can be punctured. Each kit includes one extra air bag for replacement. Airbag can be replaced if there is air leak. Or use silicone glue to seal leaking holes.
  • Practice for Muscle Memory & Realistic Feedback: Supports several times of practice so learners can practice identifying chest anatomy, locating intercostal spaces, and performing accurate needle decompression. Air release sound can be heard if punctured in correct position.
